bought online, got no download link and no cd key

Dear everyone

I just bought "Sins of a Solar Empire" and paid via paypal and never received a download link or cdkey.

What I did:
1. browsed to the sins of a solar ampire site
2. clicked buy now
3. selected download only
4. selected "Checkout with Paypal"
5. entered my Account information and password from paypal
6. Got a receipt from paypal

I got a receipt with a order number and in my paypal account the money is missing and so on. But I got no download link, no cd key, nothing. I checked my spam folder, nothing.

Before buying the game I did not create a Stardock account or downloaded SC or something. I never used stardock before and did not know how it works.
I tried some things like "Lookup serial number" in my afterwards created account (account created with the same email address as it has been used in the store) but there are no products registered, of course.

A friend ordered the game at the very same time he did the steps a bit differently. He selected checkout and not "checkout with paypal" and selected Paypal as his payment method afterwards. He got a receipt that looks exactly like mine except that there is a text atteched to it with the cd key and the download link and so on.

So, I am basically stuck with a receipt that says I paid 45$ but I have nothing more than that.

I can log in to the store now and it shows that I ordered Sins of Solar Empire (digital download). But also no cd key or download link is available there.

Paypal can take some time to fully process--if you haven't gotten anything by morning, contact [email protected].

Hello and thanks for the answer.

I just wonder. I never had a problem with paypal.
And Paypal normally is very quick.

So I checked my paypal and it say everything is fine. I “lost” the money and it say the transfer succeeded and proceeded.
So how can you say it doesn't?

Also my friend paid with paypal. And he got it instant.

Store.stardocks.com also said I had bought it.

So if you say it is PayPal, please explain it.
I really have no idea what you mean.

You have my money but I have nothing.
Not really a fair trade.

If you haven't gotten a response in the morning, send me a private message with the email address you used and I'll have them pull it up.

Same problem here, guys this is so utterly broken, you need to fix it.

If somebody buys the game by picking Paypal from https://store.stardock.com/cart they will get a payment confirmation email with no serial number in it. The only reason I am installing the game now is because I kept the payment confirmation page in the browser and that contained the serial number (otherwise I would be chasing support).

It is odd. But since most people don't have trouble, its hard to troubleshoot and fix. Hopefully, the new system they are planning to release will fix this, or include better troubleshooting data to help them fix this.

Answered your thread about it. We can keep the discussion there since this is an old thread.
