Me never, but it would be nice to have at least one 5 star rating..... I too agree with everyone that the rating doesn't mean anything, but as I say it would be nice.

The only person's personal taste that should matter is your own. If you become more concerned about making skins for 'what everyone will like' to get higher ratings, kinda takes takes the fun out of it.

mine always get 5 stars.......it's just that not all are yellow.....

/me gets to see the ratings - individually...and it's actually quite common that a skin gets a 10 [5 star], however, as SHOULD be the case that will only rarely remain the average as not everyone's taste and/or opinion is the same.

What you generally will end up with [assuming a fair number of ratings] is a representational 'average' that better matches overall community opinion...;)

I'm happy to get at least 3 stars on a skin, anything more than that and I'm excited.
The ratings however don't really affect the popularity of your skin, I'm sure there are lots of 2 or 3 star skins that get more attention (downloads) than 5 stars, it's all subjective. I pay more attention to the comments that are provided on my skins, the positive feedback I've rec'd has always been a great boost to me - I look forward to that more than the star rating.

I have to agree that the proof is really in the number of downloads. The only real rating I look at is the initial one because I want to know what the mods think of the work submitted. Comments are more important to me than ratings and I wish more folks would leave them so you know what folks like and dislike. "To thine own self be true" goes a long way but I personally would like to offer up what the public wants!

blah.... when I first started I wondered about the stars/ratings and all... I never really agreed to much with them anyway. After awhile you'll figure out, like many have said, they don't mean much.

You can find a lot of skins rated 2 1/2-3 stars with a ton of downloads and a lot of skins rated 4 1/2-5 stars with very few downloads.  Think about it.

I skin for me.  I upload to share. If someone downloads what I've done, fine.  If they rate, better.  If they leave a comment, best yet.

I have to agree with Zub...I prefer comments over ratings.

I'm happy   to edit my best: "Firefox Portable Edition" .png rating was 3.5 stars !
Sadly  (:( only 12 hours later I had my worst: the icons from THE SAME .PNG in the Misc. Gallery were 2 stars !!
