G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

G.R.O.S.S. communication thread.

Cringe in fear do gooders. The G.R.O.S.S. (Get Rid Of Slimy alienS) empire is now formed. In less than an hour we have jumped 95 other Pacifist Doo Gooder victim empires and lept into 40th out of 135 ranked.

We are an evil empire bent on controlling everything and showing all the other empires out there who's boss. US. Are you listening Euro-"Oh lets let everyone be a senator and give em a vote doo gooder democracy alliance?" We come for you.

For a limited time, (untill I decide otherwise) 5 Pure Evil games, (or just impressing me with your game evilness) submitted will get you a Senatorship. Later, being the evil empire pyramid scheme we are, it will take 10. Of course, being the evil empire we are, that gives you no benefits, no pay, but all the alien carnage you crave most.

Now we do realize that sometimes, you just have to fake being good. You sometimes just have to infiltrate that pacifist party. We understand. But we aren't a kinder gentler empire and don't let their pacifism go to your head. And just sometimes, you gotta let the Aliens live (where else would you find slaves for the heavy metal lava mines?)

In the future, we shall update each other in the empire via this thread, brag of our conquests, drink blood wine, and generally just poke fun (creatively and humorously) at those players whom we find to be too goody goodyish.

Our mottos.

G.R.O.S.S. Where being good is merely a temporary strategy.

Just win baby.

Here's your ration of skin you do gooder wimp Drengin slime. Now get back to work

EBZeroMatrix you have been made a senator.

I repeat. Cringe in fear, we come for you.

Ah, but we all know that choosing the Universalist party spells trouble. Take your chances with unexplained election crashes and disappearing resources when taking that party. I don't know what the official verdict is about 1.03, but the crash/disappearance chance is enough to make me suspicious.

As for the Senate, I am not evil enough for that august body in terms of overall alignment, not yet. Afterall, I am like 4 good, 2 neutral, and 2 evil games there (with a third evil coming along). But I can sell trade goods to subvert the aliens into defecting to me any day of the week!

You need to join up. Cant do much indifferent obliterating alone now can you?

----------

Actually, I do about as much obliteration as you, Eb, and Coffee added together - or pick any five of your non-senators. (If you just go by raw metaverse score) So I do alright. As much as I admire the C&H reference (do the senators get to wear newspaper hats???), I'm still waiting and watching to see if GROSS is cool enough. Besides, seeing Bun-bun with a switchblade at the bottom of my posts rules. No sluggites here? (www.sluggy.com).

Why be a Follower in Heck when you could be the Emperor of Hell?

Well, any 5 except HG. I didn't notice HG's score before, gotta show proper respect. :) Not that metaverse scores mean a whole lot now that it is so hideously unbalanced from version to version, but it at least gives an idea. Actually, they're starting to not mean anything.

Oh so the disappearning econ resource is a function of Universalist party selection. I never got any crashes (I heard they worked that out) Guess I was mistaken. I will select another then and won't reccomend our members take it. I did like the Luck bonus though. Was pretty darn cool.
LMAO Guess the bug may be the source of the "anomoly" I got dinged for

I hoped they solve that in the future. Meanwhile, I'll try some parties I haven't before.

_______

There are two provisions for Senatorship. And all our members can wear newspaper hats.
1. The 5 evil submissions (this is under revision to adjust for size though all current members are grandfathered in under this requirement.
2. Convince me (changed now to convince the Senate) of the evilness and/or brutality. of your game playing strategy (even though the metaverse see's it as "Good"

EB qualified under the auto provision, Coffee qualified under the other provision.

I looked at SV's numbers. He was attempting to qualify under provision 2. When indeed he had already automatically qualified under provision 1. Any debate is moot at that point. He qualified under what we had agreed to.

Senate carries no real authority here. Neither does emporer.
Anyone can come and go as he or she pleases around here.

As to your constant "I'm joining when" "If" "Blah blah blah we are tired of playing diplomatic games.

You can be part of the G.R.O.S.S. steamroller, or you can be G.R.O.S.S. roadkill under that steamroller. Let the choice be yours.

My last game was only my 2nd evil game but I was totally EVIL...all good races where enslaved and made to watch the movie glitter...over...and over :)

"A 5200 point evil victory posts as "anomolous" and gives me 0 points."

Arrrgh. I hate it when such things happen. Hopefully tech support will look into it.

The Arceans have foiled my plan to rush them with Corvettes. But I am in good shape overall, so we will see what the future may bring. :)

Just cause I ran across this today:

C: "I've got it! We'll call our club G.R.O.S.S - Get Rid of Slimy GirlS! That way, Susie Derkins can't join!"

H: "Is she slimy?"

C: "ALL girls are slimy. Now the first order of business is to elect officers."

H: "I get to be president! I get to be president!"

C: "Oh, No you don't! This whole club was MY idea so I get to be president."

H: "Ok, then I get to be King and Tyrant."

C: "Hey, no! THAT'S what I want to be! You can be president!"

I'm starting to think it's the buggy Universalist party choice that I thought had been fixed. If it is indeed a bad game that's certainly not my falt and ought to be at bare minimum removed. I'd prefer the 5200 points be reinstated of course. Meantime, I will now not play the Uni's . Oh that was a gr8 party choice.

LMAO Susie Denkins is barred admission. That's where it comes from.

Little did mankind know, the basis for the dominant evil empire in the 22nd century would actually be a comic strip from the 20th.
Kind of like that star trek episode where that ship leaves a history book on Chicago Gangsters and 15 years later when Kirk arrives the whole planet is modelled after that book/

EBZero, what's going on? I must be out of the loop somewhere...

In other news, here's my gameplan for this weekend's next Gigantic game:

* Gigantic map
* Painful difficulty (Intelligent AI)
* Abundant planets
* Tight clusters
* Federalist Party
* +1 Speed, rest in luck and econ

I plan to shoot for a tech victory as fast as possible, with a simultaneous goal of maximum population. I will not attempt to drag this game out though... seems to have hurt my score bad in the last one.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like a good one. SV

I've found those econ bonuses to be most powerful because you get em right off the top.

I too have had to abandon a couple Universalist party games untill whatever quirk in my score it may have caused is worked out.

Gigantic
Federalist
Luck,
pq,
creativity
morale 10
econ 20

1.35 drags scores sv. But once they do the normalization thing, it will work out.

EB, everyone here is free to come and go as he pleases. If this isn't the right place for you at this time, no hard feelings. But If you don't communicate exacly what's Wrong there is no way it can be fixed. Ive turned on my aim in you don't wish to put it in open forum.

Reply #243 Top
EB I didn't know you very well, and I'm still not sure what the drama is about, but I wish you the best of luck!

Never let those filthy non-human scum bring you down!

Once a G.R.O.S.S er. Always a G.R.O.S.S. er. You're welcome back any time as a Senator of course. You've earned it and that will never change.

SV. Best we drop it with EB. I don't know what's going on. He wouldn't say. And speculating only makes things worse.

Oh and no one defects. We don't have a Berlin wall. :) Good luck EB.

Pontius you can just change the config to your desire, right? (Using the bonus pack).

Case in point about GROSS membership. In game i started last night (actually early this morning) (challenging/large), by the second UP meeting only the 'good' AIs had much any influence, and decided to limit 'evil' civs to 1 trade route! (Forever apparently). Now I will have to keep my morals in line to not go to the dark side until late game, or something. The Torians have it coming, they are first. Behind the pathetic Alexians, who actually colonized 3 systems. No one will miss them. hehehe
Reply #246 Top
Uhm to clarify previous post: 'we' are supposed to determine the 'evilness' of the new applicants b/c many times the morality can't be determined by score, b/c for example you are forced to pretend to be good for aforementioned reasons. This is what i referred to.
Reply #247 Top
Rob of course, the senate will take that into consideration. Now devise an evil strategy such as ok goody goody prepare to be culterally brainwashed with our three legged Levis.
Reply #248 Top
Wow that stinks the senate limiting evil empires to one trade route. Of course I got the starbases help allies in the sector too. Geez that stank. I like to culturally assimilate allies all the while ripping my enemies to shreds.

Not sure what you're asking here. You can change the alien races to good or evil at will.? Yours is determined by your actions. Do you mean in that bonus pack you can start yourself off as goody goody, saintly, or demonic?

You know, they probably should have had a ruthless meter rather than a good/evil meter. Because I get smacked evil merely for erecting nets to keep sea creatures off the continent, killing a few non sentient worms, eradicating bugs.

It's not like you have to do anything truly evil to be called evil in this game. Anything you choose on those choices that benefits ya, gets ya slapped with the evil tag.

That's why I've always said it's a game strategy choice, nothing more. Originally it was a no brainer. Play evil. Now, they've put quite a few goody goody things in.
