Running in a virtual window?

I've read that you can run GalCiv in a window if you set your desktop to 16bit. Microsoft has released a new PowerToy in the last few days that allows you to create up to 4 virtual desktops in Windows XP (it is a freebie). Has anyone tried to run GalCiv in a virtual window using Microsoft Virtual Desktop Manager for Windows XP? Can this be done?

I can do it using the Stardock Object Desktop Control Center.
Do not see why the Microsoft program would not work.
Give it a try and let us know.
