whats that slider bar under the icons?

I have looked through the threads so sorry if its already explained. There's a bar with a double headed arrow on each end under the icons on the bottom of the screen. It's been there for a while and as far as I can make out it doesn't do anything yet. Anyone know what its intended for?

Its used to move through your music tracks,if you are using a playlist. It can be used for normal game music if you copy space01 -05.mpg from your music folder to the playlist folder and select user definded playlist in the options screen.
