Daily Love Tip #100

Put Things Back Where You Found Them

The tape dispenser is missing in action. The cell phone is ringing, but not long enough to reveal its hiding place. You have to run a quick errand, but the car keys have disappeared. Your new camera goes on the fritz and the warranty is, well....you're sure you didn't throw it away!!

How much time do you waste looking for something that should be right under your nose? How much extra stress is added to your day because you can't find what you need when you need it? Searching for lost items can be overwhelmingly stressful. Your mother was right: "A place for everything and everything in its place" is a simple principle that will bring peace and order to your home and relationship.

Being organized in your personal life will help produce harmony in the home.

My biggest problem with keeping things organized is that I have three children in the house, and NONE of them seem to care if they put things back or not. They take the stapler or the tape or the scissors, to use for whatever reason, and then just leave it where they used it, and go on about their business, unless I stop them and ask "Did you put the ---- away?"

And my dh is borderline ANAL about putting things where they belong, so it REALLY drives him nuts!
