When Girls Say "Stop"

A blog for the boys

Sometimes we mean it and sometimes we don't. I apologize for the times we don't mean it, and say it. I'm sure we confuse you. Between playing hard to get and really being annoyed at you we must say it quite often. You tickle us and sometime we get pissy and sometimes we squeal in delight. You splash us in the pool and sometimes we splash back and other times we simply don't want to be splashed. Try to be in the least bit sensative when we ask you to stop. We're not like you. We don't want to wrestle (all the time anyway). We don't want you to treat us like jerks to impress other people.

But, when girls say no, stop. Whatever you're doing, if it's affecting them in a direct way, stop. When we do mean it, we really do mean it. Especially if we bring it up and a point in time when the incident isn't occuring. Then we really meant it. I know, we're a tease. Sorry for confusing you guys. Joke with us, tickle us, but respect us, and know when it's time to stop.

Girls, don't say "stop" unless you really want them to stop. Stop saying "don't" if you want them to keep up. Squeal and run if you want to play the silly game of hard to get. Hit back if you're having a good time. Call names if you don't mind them doing the same to you. Run when they chase you around the yard if you like it. But don't let them disrespect you, and let them know when you mean "stop" by not saying it when you really want them to keep going.

You're asking for maturity and understanding in the male. It is a rare combination. Good Luck.

It is confusing to tell what a woman really wants when she says no. I doubt most will ever only say it when they mean it though, which is why I have a simple policy when dealing with it: assume it's yes until they shout. I haven't had the chance to try it yet, but maybe that's a good thing.

Thank you for addressing one of my pet peeves in this post as well. I have always been annoyed by the perception that somehow it's ok for a woman to be a "tease", but not OK for a man to read it as such. The fact is, no woman deserves to be violated, regardless of the circumstances, but there also needs to be an understanding that, in playing coy, they just might be putting themselves in harm's way needlessly by sending mixed signals to some neanderthal who doesn't get it.

mmm thats a common problem, i also dunno when a girl says no.

Many a times she says no, and i still go ahead.

And they really did not mean no, ultimately.

Luckily I did not go though too many such experiences.

Thank god, yes !

That's an interesting policy... my boyfriend does the same thing with me a lot of the time, but not until I shout, until I give him an evil/irritated look, not just a cute pout.

Exactly what I'm trying to say.

Probably the shouts and evil looks can be a clue.

Thanks for the comments everyone!

In my book, when a girl says "no" I take her at her word. If she wants to play stupid little games then she is not the girl for me.

Sometimes no means no,
Sometimes no means yes,
Sometimes going with the flow,
Often works out best,

And therein lies the problem...if you say it, mean it....and if you don't mean it, don't say it.

I know, we're a tease.

Not all of us...and IMO, those who are make life more difficult for those who aren't, because it leads men to believe that every woman's "No" means "Keep trying, and change my mind." No should mean no, and should be the stopping point, period.

EXACTLY! That says it all!!

Good for you CS!

When does a girl say no, when she actually mean yes!

What sillyness!

If a woman really meant no she would not have gone out to the bar or disco dressed in a short skirt and a tight top in the first place. If a woman is in a bar dressed provocatively then she is ripe to be hunted.

But if the filly in question is your wife/girlfriend then she has no right to refuse her marital obligations anyway, so consent is not an issue at all.

Hey Sir Peter, old chap, I'd love to see you take that up with Lorena Bobbit.

I would slap that vile woman silly, which is what she deserves. Or maybe I should just mutilate her genitals, after all that is the done thing when a marital disagreement takes place these days.
