New user with som questions

Hi there i am new here and am looking at getting GC, but :notsure: the system specs stopped me from ordering right away my specs are
p2 550 mhz
256mb ram
8 mb vid vard i810
plenty of room
and is there a multi-plyr in GC???
and is the demo still going to come out???

Pentium II? Nope, not going to work. You need a Pentium III because of the multithreading.

Ach, how many people are going to ask this? NO MULTIPLAYER! GalCiv is single-player only. End of discussion.

And I don't know about the demo, but Stardock does seem to deliver, so I would say yes. But it won't matter for you. Sorry.

egg head...Are you sure that is a P2? I am pretty sure that the P2's stopped at 400 and the P3's started at 450.

You can turn the multithreading off and it will work *just fine* on a Celeron 450, so it should work on a 550 as well.

I'm running this game on two machines:
1. 800Mhz 128 meg ram
2. 400Mhz 128 meg ram laptop

I finished a Gigantic with absolutly no problematic slowdown with the 800 box and have finished a a medium on the laptop. Sure on the 400 the videos are a bit choppy but one I saw them twice I just ESC out of them. buy the game, it'll be fine. With the amount of RAM you have I don't see how you'd have much trouble with a Gigantic.
