Worthless
...if we're that bad, why are we still around?

My employer has a certain catchphrase used to berate the humble minions, most often three or four colleagues who are in a particular role. I can't repeat it here; it will instantly identify this employer. All I can say is that it is extremely pejorative, highly unprofessional, and that this phrase is used, in one mayor's immortal words, "early and often".
We're always getting lectured on this and that business book-of-the-month to read. I've read all sorts of books, from Peter Drucker to Tom Peters, and I don't recall any of them advising treating one's employees in this manner. I guess times have changed. Is respect is no longer necessary in a business milieu? Does this mean we now just do our work, not give a damn about it, and go home at the end of the day? Guess so... It would make life a little easier if we cared less about what it was we did all day and just looked forward to what we had waiting for us when the meter stopped ticking.
