How can I tell who's paying me tribute

I don't want to attack a race paying me good tribute.

they will contact you to tell you that they are going to give you XX amount for XX months. I dont believe you just get credits out of the blue from the aliens. However, if you dont keep track of who contacted you to say youre getting tribute, I dont know if that info is available anywhere...unless you get it from your espionage reports.
