I placed some gagdets/widgets on my desktop yesterday and whenever I reboot the computer they end up in a different place when the computer starts. Is there any way to ancor them. I tried to created a tool bar and transfer them to that, even installed desktop X, but they stubbornly refused to take up residence on the bar. Any suggestions?

It depends on what you're running and how the author has created them. There is unfortunately no method through the interface that will allow you to easily adjust the position on startup. If these are widgets, however, you would be able to import them (right click on the system tray icon while in DX Builder mode) and modify them to suit your taste.
