Procrastination

Tick-Tock,

The throbbing of the clock.

Work to be done,

But I’m more into fun.

I think I’ll sit here,

And stare at the wall.

Things to be done,

But I’m having a ball.

There are papers to write,

Things to be read,

Time to lie around,

Stretch out in bed.

What’s with all the rush?

The deadline’s far away.

Give me a break,

While I hit the hay.

It’ll work out in the end,

I’ll get started soon,

It’s due tomorrow,

But I like watching the moon.

You need to relax,

Don’t worry so much,

If you don’t smell the roses,

You’ll be out of touch.

What a nice day,

A perfect time for delay.

Unfortunately I have to go,

There’s something that needs to be done so-

I’ll finish this poem in a huff,

‘Cause I have to work on some stuff.
