I just started this game a couple days ago, and I'm having a rough time trying to figure out what to research.
So what I did was to set the ordering of the research item to "cost" and I'm just doing them by the cheapest first. I used to do this "cheapest first" thing in MOO2 and it seemed to work pretty well.
Will this work ok in this game?
(the only exception to this is that the very first thing I do is communications and then tranlator. After that I do the cheapest.
What do you think?
