I want to know how do I make it so the I can see all the battles fought on the battle screen? Because right now whenever my ships attack ships orbiting plantets, unarmned support craft (colony ships, Transports, freighters), space stations, and asteroid colonies it just stays on the galaxy screen.

In DL you cannot, not unless you choose to use a fleet. Of course using a fleet is not advisable against unfleeted weaker ships if their firepower points exceed the hitpoints of one of your ships (dont include defence because in DL it can roll a zero). Using a single ship, you are protected by the no mutual distruction rule.

Okay what I mean is that I want to see it go into the battle screen not stay on the galxy screen for all battles because it currently only dose it for some and I'm playing the expansion pack also in Dread Lords it always went into battle.

Click on the "options" button in the top left of the main screen, then the "interface" tab along the top (second from left IIRC). In the right column about mid-screen are two boxes, check "full battles" and uncheck "full battles only if both sides are fleets".
Wording may not be exact, as I don't have it open in front of me. But that should be close enough for you to get there on your own.

What he is asking cannot be done. Unless at least 1 side is a fleet, you cannot watch the battle. 1 on 1 battles are not allowed to be watched.

Ok, then. What about if you designate single ships as fleets (if you have to, you can have a two-ship fleet and kick one of the ships out of it)?

That will not work. Perhaps you can mod the game to do that but i do not know?
At any rate, so long as the ship you are attacking does not have dangerously high firepower verses your ships hitpoints, you should always use fleets to attack. That will then increase the experience of multiple ships for each single attack.

If you have the options set to full battles and the 'show only if both sides are fleets' option off, it will show all battles in the viewer. Even one on one, against unarmed ships, and in DL (just checked).

Strange. The Combat Viewer didn't work against tiny Freighters on trade routes. They just explode while still in the galaxy screen. Yet, it does work when a tiny Space Miner gets attacked while it's upgrading a Mining Base.
It also works well for 1-on-1 battles. In the first DA mission, I watched my Drengin Battleship literally slug it out in a 1-on-1 Phasor duel with the slightly weaker Drath Battleship. It looked absolutely awesome, the best battle I've watched yet.

If it's any consolation, the battle viewer will get tiresome over time. Eventually, you'll shut if off for everything. At some point, you'll probably also find yourself doing battles in iconic mode most of the time. Although, every now and then I might zoom in on a couple heavy hitters going at it.

You can watch one on one battles in the battle viewer. You do not have to have a fleet. Follow the instructions Kryo provided. This will let you watch all battles in the battle viewer (except the two cases below)
1. Battles versus asteroid mining bases
2. Battles versus freighters in trade routes
These two cases are always animated on the main map.
