Direct IP Not Working

Me and my friend tried to play a direct ip game and whenever one of us hosted and the other tried to connect it said disconnected from the server.
I know it doesn't have to do with firewall because mine is not blocking the game and my friend doesn't have one...
anyone has any ideas or even a solution?
p.s: we have normal modems not raouters

Anti-virus programs may also interfere, be sure to check them out and temporarily disable them if need be for testing.

It's also possible you have more than one network card on your computer. Is seems quite common now to have a card on the motherboard and a seperate network card.

and if i have 2 cards?
what can i do to make it work?
my friend has a network at home can it effect as well?

Until we figure out something more elegant, use trial and error to disable the card that Sins isn't using.

Rather than trial and error, I'd say to just disable all network interfaces except one, the one you actively want to use.

Yeah, a lot of people do that. For one thing, I've seen / heard of a number of cases where the motherboard's networking port doesn't work / is inferior to a proper nick card. Or just plain got killded when some idiot tried to plug the cord in backwards. ./clobbers said idiot

Sound reasonable. Regardless, we fixed it so that even if you have multiple cards it will work now
