Cheating

I've tried the cheat short cut as cheat and CHEAT and the codes still don't work. is am missing someting?

Perhaps. Refer to the Wiki Cheats and keyboard shortcuts article. You need to use either

"C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\galciv2.exe" cheat

or

"C:\Program Files\Stardock\TotalGaming\GalCiv2\DarkAvatar\GC2DarkAvatar.exe" cheat

dependent on your game. Usually the shortcut points to the launcher "GC2Launch.exe" and then the launcher is used to get to the game. You need to change the shortcut to point directly to the game executable in order to use the "cheat" option.
