I swear, at this rate we're going to be looking at Beta3 before they release the patch

Regardless, I thinks it will be worth the wait and as long as I know progress is being made then I'm (mostly) content. Ok, really anxious but I'm paitent.

Hey Beta 3 + patch is also good

By the time Beta 2 patch is out maybe i'll have finished my first game? I'm at 6.5 hours and only have 6 planets taken - still only partway through my first galaxy. The game I setup is a 3 galaxy game with around 10-15 planets per galaxy.

I'm thinking it will be around 12 hours total but might accelerate some as I get more fleet points and resources coming in. The hold-up is really the crystal production since i'm out and so are all the AI locations I am taking over.

Remember that Beta 3 is the multiplayer technical test. We're looking mainly for bugs, lag, and other multiplayer issues not necessarily related to gameplay (that's Beta 4).

Has anything been mentioned in regards to drop-hack wins. I know it been a problem for many other online RTSs.

Also what about losing players players with bad connections ? (You know the loss of ping or waiting for player to reconnect) Would they have the option to rejoin the game ? Or at least have the AI fill in for them...

Also, in my experience multiplayer technical problems are 100x worse than singleplayer technical problems because there are so many more variables. Expect a massive increase in un-fun until we sort it all out.

So are we not allowed to have fun again?

Heh, he,. Mind if I don't ever get beta 3? Can I stick with beta 2? You see, I have BF 2142 which plays laglessly and perfectly in single play, but in multiplayer it lags SO FREAKIN MUCH!!! even if my ping is FREAKIN 32!!!! And in SoaSE it lags alot in the begining (anyway to disable that "zoom in movie" thing and set it so that it just starts viewing the whole gravity well? I think that is what causes most of the lag. That'd be GR-R-R-REAT!)

Will beta 3 still have singleplayer or do I need to not upgrade? (I know, I know, improper english )

My understanding is that beta 3 simply enables the MPlayer features, nothing more.

This would be a wonderful feature if it was implemented. If you drop the computer takes over until you can reconnect.
