Right and the coder and theme developer will get their very own
if you do this you will be the first to recieve the forst stable beta
I know that's how I wanna get paid for doing all the work. lol
And, ya Brains, you're probably right but, I just couldn't help myself.

I would try, but if you wrote stuff into that OS, I wouldn't hold hope for GUI readability.

im looking to give it beryl effects,so basically add yod,m in and extract the gnu from toy,d desktop shell replacement
I've read that line about 10 times now, and I still don't understand it.
Also, can you clarify, Are you making a genuine Operating System, or a Desktop Enhancement program, like Desktop X or Litestep?

Before you call people idiots, check your spelling and the cohesiveness of your requests.you dont have anything better to do then flame
You must hang out in other, very kind forums to classify the responses here as "flame"

If you're truly interested in OS development, your best bet is to get involved with open source. You'll find a lot of help in the Linux forums, and maybe find someone that's onboard with what you want to do.

We do not close threads on simple requests, however it is patently obvious the initial post has been edited/deleted which undemines all that which follows, something quite inconsiderate towards any/all respondents.
Since this thread now makes no sense at all...consider it closed.

THE BEATINGS WILL NOW BEGIN!!!
I must say that I look forward to a short lived OS that is "based on Windows", where the programmer doesn't even have the ability to construct a sentence that is readable....

Should prove to be most entertaining indeed.
There is my calcium contribution to the spinal development process....

If I'm reading that right he was saying that he wants to incorporate some open source code into this and thus open himself up to a lawsuit from FOSS as well as Microsoft.

It only takes a minute to Google the elements the OP referred to (Yod,m & Toy,d).
It's a shame the OP didn't realise those elements are probably not native to many users of this site. It's way too easy to be focussed on an area of development and forget that other people have their own focus.
FWIW, Toy,d looks like it might be fun to explore:

I'd still have liked the OP to have had a chance to draw out a bit more - the Toy,D project seems to have stalled in March at what they're describing at the pre-alpha stage - unless some thing is happening in the background.
It seems almost like taking a liveCD with a Windows finish; like Linspire, but instead of it being on an abstract layer, they seem to be trying to enable a portable graft that can be placed onto the OS of choice.
If it could be made to work in a stable fashion, it's difficult to see how at the end of the day you'd get pass the fact that Linux isn't Windows - which strangely seems to be the thing that surprises new adopters the most and results in a return to what's familiar. That said, I always enjoy seeing people try to make ideas work and would for the most part, rather see them succeed than fail.
I'd also have been interested to read what he/she was building on. Thinking at this point of introducing a 3D desktop manager seems a bit previous, so I'd have liked to have had a chance to hear why the OP was thinking at this level.
