A bit of help needed...game crashes

Good day.
Just starting my relationship with GalCiv
and unfortunately having a bit of trouble.
Every time game runs any kind of animation (tech researched, random event and such) game freezes on me.
What i mean is - animation ends and that's it...game isn't responding so i have to close and reload.
That was fine for a first couple of turns but now i found a nice quality 20 planet which always generates an event when colonized, which means i can't land on it due to a game crash.
Have someone expirienced something similar and if yes then what is the possible solution?
