Vista anyone?

Vista Ultimate is pretty cool. I don't have it but I've seen it. I'd have to buy a new computer for it. The video is pretty funny.

My fiance bought a new laptop recently and it had vista on it, he cant uninstall it, he says it sucks and its not compatable with ANYYYYTHING. He also said you have to confirm every little thing you do LOL.

I have vista ultimate, and is very cool. Programs that i use compatible all. Drivers works fine for me.( only cup of problem my hp scanner-printer )

You can't "uninstall" an operating system...you have to wipe it and install a different one.

I haven't really used Vista, but it looks nice enough. Will be quite a while before I decide to upgrade.

I've always got tons of dvd's and cd's that have private info.
That we have to burn to keep the info safe. Funny - well kind of - if you like things
being destroyed.

But Vista works very well here and at work!

i have Vista Home Premium on a new Dell laptop. no problems yet. just a couple incompatabilities. no muss no fuss.

if u know how to use vista, it's awesome. and that confirmation is there for the people that try to uninstall an OS LMAO. and for those of us that know how to use a pc, we can disable it

i don't really find this video funny either, i wonder if the guy in the video was perhaps your fiancee?

Vista is GREAT and most compatible with Everything Now.. I mean it wasn't when it first came out, BUT everyone here and Everywhere has been great keeping up with Vista..

I run home premium and Have NO problems with it...

I've got Vista on my new laptop, it's a little touchy feely and fuzzy for me. Of course Window Blinds took care of some of that.
The video was funny, I loved it.

NO...if it was...it would be more configurable...its XP's dumbass stepchild.

The problem is some people think you can whack any version in and upgrade to it no problem. The fact is Vista has a high demand on hardware and resources, so you need to make sure you have compatible hardware and software before installing. Always make sure you do some research before spending all that money on something that may not be compatible.

I have been running Vista as my only operating system for roughly a year now and I have had little or no problems that weren't either because of drivers not ready yet, (no longer an issue for anything I use)or applications that need upgrading (also almost never an issue any more).

Anytime a new versiono f an operating system comes out there are always issues with compatibility here and there. If every sinlge Billy-Joe-Bob third party chunk of code worked there wouldn't be any significant changes or improvements to the O/S. If you want improved security, better memory management routines, more stable file system, and on and on and on... Improvements require changes and that will always have a ripple effect on other code.

As for downgrading, to do that you get an XP disk that is a full install and you boot from it. Then you tell it to do a new install, as mentioned above. You then tell it to use the entire harddrive and to delete the onld partition and create a new one, etc. If this is something the user is not really either comfortable with or understands then pay someone to do it for you.

It is slightly possible depending on the manufacturer that you could convince their suppport to either give or sell you an XP disk to revert to the previous version but this is not likely with all computer OEMs. If you are really intent on going back to XP and don't already have a copy to use then I would at least try before I buy a copy.

I'd rather face a firing squad than buy/instal the new Vista!

Actually, Vista is a very good OS, is stable and fast on a decent rig....and if my 75 yo technologically challenged mother can figure it out, anyone can. In fact, she has a dual boot machine with XP (for her printer) but still prefers to boot into Vista.
