Nice. I love the snow.

And, um, either I'm going insane (entirely possible) or your tree has a face.

I love birds. I blogged recently about the birdlife in our back yard. I would love to have accompanied it with photos, but didn't have my camera with me at the time.

What sort of birds are they? The red one looks particularly beautiful.

The red ones are Cardinals.  I'm pretty sure that is Ohio's State Bird.  They are everywhere, and I love red so I love to see them.

The others are fat sparrows and I think I saw some doves.  I love birds in the yard.

hahahha.  That's our tree sprite!  The parts glow in the dark, though not well anymore, but provided many nights of entertainment last summer.

Well feel free to come here and shovel.  Kids were out of school today again.  THREE days in a row.  I can feel my iq slipping......buwhahahaha.

Thanks a LOT!  Three more inches fell AFTER I took that picture and I was so fortunate, I got to go shovel it!  I hate shoveling!  Not Shovel HEAT mind you...just shoveling!

Yeah they aren't any fun.  But sometimes in the summer, when we've had a solid couple weeks of sunshine, I like a grey day.  It seems like everything gets a breather.

We got around 6 inches here...fun, fun.

I got about 3 feet from a cardinal today...and I saw a few robins awhile back in January...which was kinda strange, robins shouldn't be here.



Indeed...cardinals are the state bird...ladybugs are the state bug...and the trilobite is the state fossil.

I can't see the colors of the birds, probably cause I'm viewing this from the Forums. I like seeing the snow after a snowfall but hate when it sticks around!

Ah yes, the magnificent cardinal birds. They are very similar to an introduced bird called the Bulbul. These have a similar crest on the head, but are grey with red bellies and under-tail feathers.

When I worked at the Garden Center, we used to sell those tree faces, too.

And they creep the hell out of me.

But the birds look nice.

I KNOW that's Alaska's state bird. They are huge. We used to joke getting bit by one was like donating blood. heh.

PS why they scare me - I don't know if you're familiar with the cover to Iron Maiden's album "Fear of the Dark" but there's a scary tree Eddie on the cover of that album that used to scare me as a child. Thus, trees+faces=scared lil' Braeden.

And of course, those terrors stay with a bloke as he grows.

I always liked the original "in-Laws" with Peter Falk and Alan Arkin - where Falk tells of the Tse-tse flies in central america that carry off children.
