System tray is empty

I'm using OD 1.5 Plus and suddenly - one day to the next - my previously working super System Tray tabbed dock is empty. Closing and reopening OD doesn't help, adding a new System Tray tab only adds another empty tab.

Anyone seen this and how to fix ?

I've changed WindowsBlinds pretty much every day but that's the only thing that I've (knowingly) changed since getting this problem.

do you have sdmcp.exe running?

If you have the SDC browser, check setting to see if enable mcp notification area support is checked.

I didn't have sdmcp running. I have the SDC browser and MCP notification and smartstartup enabled.

I googled sdmcp and found:

https://forums.wincustomize.com/?forumid=37&aid=137473

I d/l'ed mcp from that link, installed it and ran it from 'C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock' (which didn't have SDMCP first) and, lo and behold, I have my tray icons back.

Thanks for the point in the right direction !

Now, why it disappeared in the first place ?!?!

I am having the same problem. After updating to v1.5 all of the icons in my system tray dock disappeared. Yes, I do have sdmcp.exe running.

Have tried creating new dock; uninstalling and reinstalling OD+; everything else I could think of. Hoping this gets corrected in next update!

Did you download and install the stand-alone MCP?

Don't bother trying to get the current tray system working ; it has been completly redone for v1.6 and works much much much better. The first Beta will be showing up on Stardock Central this week!

Ok, sorry for bumping this old post, but I'm facing the exact same problem as Jakanori..

My system tray (tabbed) always shows up empty.. and yes, SDMCP.exe is running (according to windows task manager) I also added a copy of SDMCP.exe to the start-up folder, but to no avail..

I'd seriously appreciate some help with this issue (using ObjectDock 1.9, btw)

Thanks.

Myros00: WindowsXP? or Vista? 32bit or 64bit? If Vista, is UAC enabled? If WinXP and 32bit or Vista and 32bit, I'd try contacting support. If 64bit, tray currently isn't supported for 64bit but we're hoping we can do something about this in the future. At any rate, let me know

Oh, sorry for excluding such details, lol.

I'm on WinXP, 32 bit. I posted on the board hoping someone might have a solution

Ok, I dunno if this helps, but I just reinstalled OD 1.5 on my PC, and guess what ? The Systray works !! (I never tried enabling the system tray on OD 1.5 before).

But, as soon as I reinstall OD 1.9, POOF ! System Tray just stays empty..

Hope this can be used as some sort of clue to what the problem really is..
