I think i'm doomed

I have created a scenario in which I am a custom race. All other civilizations are on a team, and all are at war with me, including the dread lords. Note that it is set to suicidial. In a huge galaxy, I started far enough away so that I could easily grab a good 1/5 of the galaxy, which is was really useful. Then about seven months in, my scout ships started noticing that everyone was starting to make transports and warships. I beefed up my defenses into huge fleets. I have over a thousand ships in ten main fleets. I'm not sure how, but my economy is still making money. Then the attacks started, in three weeks I had gone from no shots being fired to all races fully attacking me. My ships dropped like fleas, but I apparently beat back their first attack. Two months later , all sorts of transports and escorts and fleets poured in at a huge rate. I tried to stop them, but my fleets were hugely damaged, thanks to masive Dread Lord fleets. (I have never before seen Dread Lord ships in big fleets.) I lost over forty planets in the initial attack.
Now things have slowed down again, three months after losing those planets, my fleets are tattered, and I have had to regroup them into just three fleets, each with about a hundred ships. I control less than thirty planets and add to all of this, my economy is dead. I have no trade and am losing 500bc a week, which is a lot when my treasury is at 2000bc. The Torians, altarians, drengin and dread lords all have transports and huge fleets lined up on my border.
Is it too late for me? Should I have tried to attack other civs earlier? I'm afraid that there is no defense left. Any suggestions?

Without being able to see the situation, I'd say that Yes you should have attacked the most vulnerable of your enemies ASAP. You've set up a situation where waiting around to take the full brunt of their attacks is a decided disadvantage to you. It would be interesting to see if you could have won if you had started aggression before they had built up enough. As it is, it sounds like you'll be lucky to survive much longer.

Never give up! Never surrender! Honestly, the situation is grim. But if it were me I would let the galaxy forever remember the (insert your race name here) If its possible, scale back the amount of spending you are doing. Go for small interceptors to target their transports (suicide runs if needs be) if you can manage to retake a few of the dread lord captured worlds then you may be able to pick up some advanced tech.

No guarantees my friend, but it ain't over till its over in my book! Good luck.

It is probably lost, but there is one chance...Stop fighting his ships altogether. I would try going guerrilla:

Hopefully you have eyes of the universe...Build very fast interceptors (40+ speed at least, 60+ would be better) and put them in fleets capable of taking out any transport fleets (so they must be strong enough to take out the escorts). So long as the AI can't get troops to your planets, his warships do not matter. Move your remaining fleets into places where they can hit and run his planets to take out orbiting ships and immediately move in with transports to take out any planets that become available through this method. So long as the AI remains incapable of taking any of your planets due to the interceptors and you remain capable of slowly taking his planets, you will eventually win. You may not have enough resources left, or insufficient tech to manage this though.

Sounds like an entirely awesome mod, I would love to give it a try.
