attention needs a centre ...

imagine, dear reader, that you have somehow arrived at a place in your life where you are (for your own reasons) utterly compelled to dress as a giant chicken, equip yourself with some minor s&m gear, and take real time commands from strangers watching you via the net.

Yeah, I saw this on the local news out of Vegas the other night. Seems Burger King has gone kinky and taken their "have it your way" theme into a whole new area. Think that's the burger king himself in there? Has he become the Burger "Queen?"

And we thought the Quizno's rodents were a wierd way to sell fast food....

smartaz, i don't even want to think about what's under that chicken suit. ewwwww !.

but i do think this is a new low in advertising.

i wonder if the occupant of the suit will be eligible for damages for the trauma of suffering several thousand morons asking "can you lay an egg " ?.

not to mention the other stuff it has to do. what were they thinking ?. i still can't work out if i hate the idea or not. mig.

I must be more tired than I thought. It never occured to me to ask it to lay an egg. Good, now I have something for my To Do List.

But to get serious for a moment...

Don't worry too much about the man behind the beak. According to the news report I saw, all that stuff was pre-recorded. They use artificial intelligence to figure out what you requested and play what they think is the most appropriate clip. It's pretty good technology, actually. Questionable application, though.

I think what I found most disturbing were 1) the red garters (?!?!?!), 2) the site name "Subservient Chicken" ?!?!?!, 3) that it's a parody of certain subscription porn sites 4) being pushed by a major consumer company that has a large kids following 5) without any "you should be over 16 to view this" warnings or restrictions what-so-ever, and 6) that our society is becoming so perverted that this makes it through the corporate maze and is not only seen as being okay, but a good thing... and the local news promotes it by doing a story on it!!! At least you put it under adult content.

It's apparently very popular. I don't hate it, I just think it's unfortunate and not a good commentary on where our culture is right now.

...okay, that's enough being serious!

smartaz, there's so much about it that i find disturbing that it's hard to know where to start ... so i'm glad you left that comment ... it echoes most of the conflict i feel about seeing such great technology applied in such a cheesy and possibly perverted way.

yeah. enough being serious. go exploit that poor chicken ! ... make it lay an egg ;)

mig.
