Vista orb !!!!!

Im using a vista theme with windowblinds......

Ive tried alot of different vista themes

but i notice on some of the themes especially one i like the most.... the orb has a small line through the bottom half of it, it runs directly inline with the taskbar.....

anyone know if i can somehow change the size or something to stop this happening.... or is it just a bug in the themes????

The oversized start button is done with 2 images, I have found they look/work best with WindowBlinds set for Skin to decide taskbar size. When set to large or small size the overlay image which gives the oversizing, does not seem to draw properly unless the skin author has the settings perfect for one of those settings.
I use to use large size taskbar but now use skin decides a now never have a problem with oversized start buttons.

I tried the taskbar sizing, it distorted the orb badly.... so i left it as it was....'let skin decide taskbar size' and still the same problem, maybe it is down to the author of the skin.

I might try the 'advanced options', then 'other advanced controls' in windowblinds maybe i can try changing something there to see if it helps

Hey cowboybeop, what is the name of the skin and if not from here could you give a link so I can download it and take a look at it in SkinStudio to see if it is a poor skin setting.

Hey cowboybeop; I just downloaded the skin, the problem only appears with task bar at top, which is due to when taskbar is at top, WB uses the same image as at bottom drawn the same way. If you move taskbar to bottom you will see that the indent for the buuton is at top of bar, it is the same at top of screen, indent at top. Tested at sides just to see, the taskbar has been set up to look good, by settings, at bottom or right, at top or left looks off, due too no uniform size margins. Unfortunately the skin is the same as the one kayeIrene has just posted here, it will not open in SkinStudio. I would suggest you post a comment on it at DA to let her know the problem with taskbar and button and that it will not open in SS. A sub style for top taskbar or less transparency in overlay image is what is needed to fix issue.

Yes i also tried to open it with SkinStudio and also couldnt get it to open....

and true it seems the problem is when the taskbar is set at the top.....

For those who can't open this in SkinStudio, the WB folder is set to read only. Change the folder attributes and the skin should open ok.

I've just spent ages looking at this skin but can't see the problem. Possibly the Start Button Glow image is the wrong size. Both top and bottom content margins are set at 7 pixels yet the top part of the image extends 1 pixel beyond that, the bottom is level. So, dunno...

I sent the author an e-mail..... i hope she responds..... its a shame cos i think this is the best vista skin around...... alot of nice touches compared with all the others
