Overriding port 30564

Can't set it to a different port

I need to be able to set the multiplicity client to listen on a different port. No matter what port I set it to through the "Override the base port" option, the client still listens on port 30564. I have confirmed that the port isn't changing through a port sniffer. Can someone tell me why this isn't working?

Rebooting does not help, stopping/starting the client and service does not help. I have tried it on several different computers, all running WindowsXP, no firewalls.

I'm using the trial of Multiplicity 1.1 and the port override is also not working for me. Since that feature is necessary for me in order to work with it, I would very much like to see it fixed before i make the step to buy it.

How did you determine the port was your problem? Have you verified all firewalls are disabled, including windows firewall? (you can go to safemode with networking to accomplish this). Are you behind a router? If so have you tried putting the router in dmz?

All firewall's were disabled and virusscanners were taken down.

I tested it using 2 windows XP SP2 machines running on an internal network (so no router in between). Port 30564 worked perfectly but changing the port via the program or via the registry doesn't change the standard listening port (checked it using netstat -a and by using 'telnet localhost xxx' to connect to the port I specified within the program).

Since the network on my office doesn't allow connections outbound on port 30564, it has to be changed to something else. But due to the incapability of the program to listen to another port other than the standard port, I am unable to work with it at the moment.

A bug has been found in the MP service which means it is not picking up the setting change.

This has been corrected for MP 1.2 which should be out in beta soon.

I have this problem as well, and I am running the retail version of MP v1.22.  It is running on Vista Ultimate x64, if that makes a difference.  Is there a registry hack that I can use?
