Multiplayer Mod?

Something like that cannot be modded in, as it would require changes to the source code. We are considering making a multiplayer expansion pack though, if Dark Avatar sells well.

Count me in for one Dark Avatar please. Actually, I'm buying it regardless, but that's just one more motivation.

If I remember correctly, there was a way to use cheats to make a kind of flaky hotseat system. I never tried it, but if I'm remembering correctly, it basically consisted of using a cheat to switch which player you are playing as, then passing off the save file to the next person.

I really hope that we get a multiplayer expansion.

Ricree, I think you're on to something beautiful! I believe you can take complete control of the computer using a debugger, or debug mode. I have absolutely no idea how to access that, but one of the lead creators used it in a video to test AI by pitting AI against itself and watching the results. That would be as close to Hotseat as possible and doesn't even require mods.

I know Dark Avatar is getting great reviews, and I can personally say that it's worth it for the ship design changes alone, so perhaps there will be myltiplayer in the future. I love Hotseat games, when you can just hang out with friends, watch TV, chat, and play a mutually loved game like GalCiv. I'm going to try to find out how to access the debugger and see if it allows ship design, etc.
