Where will life's adventure take me when I am old and grey? Will I ever get to be old and grey?
I hope I live by the seaside, with a nice place with really big glass windows, so I can see the bay and sit out there in the morning sunlight with a coffee and my newspaper.
After I have read my newspaper, I will walk on down to the local school, where I am the lollipop lady.

As I was driving to work this morning, I had recollections of the various lollipop ladies in my life. They have always been old, but sometimes you would get a younger strange one when your regular was sick. I don't remember any of their names, but I remember their attitudes and smiles/grimaces quite vividly.
I lived very close to a state school, 3 doors down in fact, and there was a lollipop lady at the end of my street when I used to catch the bus. I hate to sound classiest here, but she absolutely adored My sister, brother and myself, because we were impeccably mannered private school kids who without fail always said thank-you and please to her. She used to give us bags of mixed lollies every now and then... The state school kids used to see this, and be visibly upset... I would hear them remark amongst themselves "how come those kids get lollies" hehe... serves them right for being uncouth and disrespectful, and running across the road well before the crossing lady had put the lollipop up or the whistle to her mouth!
It was weird that we were so angelic for this crossing lady, yet the one outside our very own school would find us quite tormenting. I cant really attribute it to anything but the fact that we were restless after the bus ride, and felt like causing trouble as soon as we got off! Maybe it was because it was so funny to have the crossing lady yell at you as you were walking into the school, and the realisation that she couldn't do anything if you started punching your brother in the middle of the road!!!
Growing old is something I am not afraid of... Being old is something I don't want to consider though! The crossing ladies with the big smiles were always the ones with no grand children of their own. Children are a breath of fresh air, and how I love to see them play and muck about! They really have the simplest minds, and the worlds troubles do not affect them... When I am old and grey, I hope my life is infected by the happiness of children!!!
How can anyone possibly be happy in their own little world? Yeah - It could be beneficial to ignore all the troubles we say everyday, but we must place faith in the Children, because when Children become jaded, all hope will be lost. I want to be in a position to make a Childs day better - when I am old, and I have no more to give to this world, I will still be able to give the children smiles.
BAM!!!
