Alien relation levels?

I am a little confused about these. I have seen cool, warm, friendly, close, etc. How many are these and how do they compare? I take it warm is better then cool?

As I recall, the levels (from worst to best) are:

At War
Hostile
Wary
Cool
Neutral
Warm
Friendly
Close
