Colony Ships

Somebody reminded in a previous thread me about an idea I had, and or a request.

An accidental launching of a colony ship, or with the inccorect amount of people. How about being able to re-integrate them back into the planet.

It's like, once you launch it, you can't put it back into...'orbit' without colonizing a planet, otherwise it is just kicked back out beside the star.

Maybe another way to move people from a high-population planet to a low population planet?

Vanyel,

I am confused about what you are asking for. On the one hand you can do what you ask now, that is, you can re-integrate the colonists into one of the planets already colonized by clicking on that planet. On the other hand, you loose the colony ship.

Since moving people by transport is ONLY star system to star system (with an even distribution to planets in a star system) doesn't meet the need of moving people from planet to planet, that method is useless.

Other methods of moving people from planet to planet have been requested in the past, but so far, no response has been received. If we keep asking for this, maybe they will have a pleasant surprise for us some day.

Didn't the OS/2 game allow you to use a transport to move people from planet to planet? Without the even distribution across the system? Or is my memory completely faulty?

John,

You are correct. Transports could be used in GC/OS2 to move people from planet to planet, both between systems and within systems. GC/OSA2 also required you to select which planet your ship was orbitting, unlike GC/Win where ships orbit a star.
