Mouse pointer disappears in GalCiv II

I was playing GalCiv II and, all of the sudden, my mouse cursor disappeared. To be more exact, the cursor's graphic "stuck" on the screen but was no longer attached to the actual mouse pointer. While, initially, it seemed my mouse had frozen, I found that I could move my mouse around and various buttons on the screen would highlight. I could still use my mouse, but I could not see my cursor! When I exited the game, my mouse pointer in Windows was invisible, but I could still click icons and drag/select them, etc. I would not be playing the game very long before the problem occurred (I'd say about 3 minutes). It seemed to occur when I was dragging the map around with the mouse.

Two things have changed: I recently got a new video card (Nvidia GeForce 6600), and I updated to the latest version of GalCiv II (1.20.035).

What can I do to fix this?

i have the same thing. but im not playing any of this stardock game. after i install windows blind, this thing happened to me. after restarting computer, they come back to normal, but after view minutes, the mouse do disappear again

I have the same problem, with mouse cursor disappearing while playing Galciv2, and so far the only way to bring it back is to press escape, then Alt+Tab to WIN, and go back to game.

Check you video driver date, the latest driver for XP from Nvidia is here;
