Your dream car would be __fill in the blank__

My recent car shopping had me thinking of dream cars again and just what I would consider the object of my desires.

It's been tossed around a bit before, but what I'm looking for is your own realistic dream car -- not the allways going to be unaffordable Mazerrati or similar set of wheels, more the 1970's 'cuda or something similar to that.

Have fun, post picture links if possible so we can see what you would be lusting after if you could get such a set of wheels.

the 1961 Oldsmobile star fire convertible, it was a rare vehicle, I could not figure a way to post a picture of it, but this site has one right on the first page, in exactly the color I wanted.

Interesting choice MM. I can see the evidence of the era for sure. Looks a bit like the later 60's or perhaps early 70's Dodge Monaco that my dad's father had for a while. I actually drove that car during a bit of my college years (as a substitute for the then dieing 65 Dodge Dart that was my regular ride at the time).

I saw a Monaco on the road just the other day and was pleasantly surprised in doing so. It was in pretty decent shape, sporting "historic" tags.


My own dream lies more in the area of the old 'cuda. Pictures can be found here I'd love to have one of those cars, though I would guess the MPG on one of them would be about the same as the newest Dodge Chargers (around 14 MPG on those).

Fairly easily: realistic = reasonably affordable within a lifetime. Un-realistic = must be a movie star or win the mega lotto to even have a hope of having that "dream car".

So, again, someone saying they'd like a Mazerrati or a Rolls Royce is unrealistic. Saying they'd like a GTO, a classic Mustang, a classic Charger, or even the new "retro" style Mustang is realistic.

I can understand lusting after a one of a kind, or one of a handful of a particular car, but what are the realistic chances someone would get such a car?

I know my dreams of the old classic 'cuda are borderline at best, given the number that were made, and the collector aspect on them currently, but at least when you see them now they aren't completely out of the realm of possibility.

How about a "Dream Bus"?

Bare with me...

I'm basically fixated on an old double-decker bus that's currently in Santa Rosa, California... to buy it and ship it (to Toronto, where I live) would be roughly $13k which, I believe, makes it "realistic"... unless you're as poor as a churchmouse (which I am.)

I have a website and a blog about it... but cannot post the URL.

...so I'm trying to get it with my VERY limited resources...

But yeah, that's my dream car... and also my family's too!

Best of luck in that dream. Hopefully you'll find a way to do it. It sounds like it would be fairly realistic and possible, but I also easily understand the "poor as a churchmouse" idea and "perpetual lack of money-itis." Hopefully you'll find a way to scrape up the funds and get things to work out for you.

Hopefully if you do pull it off you'll not get sandbagged by big repair costs to get it (or keep it) on the road.

Although I am 43 yo and truly wish That I could be 30 something again...my dream car is a 2005-06 Wet-Black with Wet-Black interior leather of course due to it being a convertible. Nice beautiful shiny spoked rims, 6-speed biggest engine available in a production automobile. Dual exaust with that rumbling engine noise even sitting idle to make your blood surge with adrenaline just to drive it once! Vettes have always been a dream of mine since boyhood since I realized what horsepower exactly was! I hope to one day own this dream very soon. I am in school now obtaining my RN Licensure. Once I have that sheepskin in my hand, the Chevy place is the first stio for me after graduation! Wish me luck guys!...Larry
