Custom Ships

I bought the game today and want to know about the ships. Is there a way I can have the custom ships that see here? It seems like I have read that you have to have the collector's edition?

I downloaded that Desktopx program but cant make heads or tails out of it. So, how do I use custom ships?

Most of the custom ships people have been posting are simply screen-shots, but a few of them are available for download at http://library.galciv2.com/index.aspx?c=8.

And DesktopX is actually used for UI modding, not for ships But if you want to mod the games interface (or even jsut the Windows interface), DX is definatly a cool tool to learn.

well I downloaded some of them and I sw them, then I upgeaded to the collectrs edition and now I dont see them anymore. Looks like I will have to make them myself. thx
