Does AI have any range, bar bug on reload still exists.

I notice I am limited how far I can send colony ships thourgh Alien space early in the game. They seem to be able to go whereever they want. Does range limits work on Aliens ?

Load a saved game you still get a series of colours bars under the map on the right side of the screen.

I run the last GalCiv.exe file dec 24 11.10 PM

Same question from me: Isn't the AI supposed to be just as limited on ship range as I am? I have been trying to find a way of verifying that this is actually happening. And it does not seem to matter what type of ship they are using. Their survey ships are the first ones I notice as being well beyond what their ship range should be, based on what I can tell of their tech levels.

Oh, and I have been trying for many builds to confirm that this is really happening.

Survey ships are a bad one to test with, because they can always pop through a wormhole.

Don't forget that the survey ship could have gone through the wormhole anomaly.

If a survey ship had gone through a worm hole beyond its range it would not be moving around exploring anomalies. It would have to go into hibernation and go someplace within its range, just like the terran survey ship would.

I noticed several times. In one game the AI was able to colonise systems deep in my territory and I could not send and ships into their territory. They had no starbases to increase their range or range extending technology.
