Help - Certain pesky icons won't change

Hi everyone,

I used to use Adobe Photoshop v9.0 to view certain files (In this case .PCX images), and i changed it to open those file types with a different program. Now, that should of changed the icon, correct? Well it didn't. It still had the Photoshop icon. So, i right-clicked the file, went to the "Icon" tab, and selected which icon i would like to change it to (The icon is in an .ICL file). But then, the icon still won't change! How can i get it to change from the Photoshop icon?

-Thanks

Simply changing the association will not change the application icon.

Certain associations also use their own icon handler which stops you from changing the icon explorer uses. I cant remember offhand if Photoshop is like this, but if the icon isnt changing then chances are its Photoshot keeping control of that icon.

Well, i do remember when installing Photoshop, you could change which files it is associated with... But i can't find that setting anywhere. It must only ask you when installing

should be in a 'preferences' somewhere in the menus - that's where I find it for everything else
