It really needs to be able to do a vertical take off/landing to be viable. Not many people have thier own landing strip. Roads aren't a good option do to power lines, traffic and the law. Airports tend to be a good ways out-of-town in most cases. The one currently constructed with the 4 turbofans looks like the most likely "type" to eventually come to market.
