New user question

from WinCustomize Forums
Hi All,
I'm new to using these themes, styles, cursers, etc. I've tried to install some of the desk top themes, and all the icons and files on my desk top dissapear. ZIs there a way to keep them there or do I need to create a file to move eveything to? That seems to be a pain, as all my short cuts are gone too. Any thoughts? Thanks for your patients!

not really a duple since this one actually mentions which program...

by desktop theme, I'm guessing you are referring to desktopX.
each theme created has the option to hide that stuff and integrate it into the theme somewhere.

if you have the client version, you use what's there.
if you have standard or above, right click the systray icon and go to builder mode, there you will have the option to unhide stuff.

or ... let us know which theme and we might be able tell you where to find your stuff.
