[Bug] Faction Creator/Create Character issue

I'm relatively new to the game and got to the stage where I have decided to create a new faction with the following details:

Race: Men
Ideology: Kingdom
Strengths: Flesh Bound Tome, Archers, Master Scouts
Weaknesses: None

I then create a new character as follows:
Faction: New faction
Magical Proficiencies: Fire Disciple & Life Apprentice
Profesion: Warlock
Talent: Attunement

When I start the game the Fire & Life Proficiencies symbols are both there but ONLY the Fire Disciple spells are available in the spellbook/to be cast.

Is this a bug with the game or posibly due to incompatible settings I've selected?

*I'm looking for help resolving the issue not advice on what attributes etc to choose.

I can't think of any reason it wouldn't work. What comes to mind, though, is the fact that Life Apprentice does not grant any Tactical (battlefield) spells, only Strategic (map) spells. Specifically, it should be granting the Courage and Regeneration unit enchantments, and the Sovereign's Call city enchantment. Are you sure they're not showing up in the spellbook at all?
