Whoever gave me Karma today, and then retracted it a couple hours later...

Why?

How did I offend you?

I swear, my hard drive's death will be quick and painless. I won't make it suffer.

Quoting Wizard1956,

Quoting Borg999, reply 20Of couse if you have 2000 karma already, it doesn't mean as much.

Says who? I value each one as much now as I did when I had 20.

Quoting Borg999, reply 20It doesn't matter, but when you're helpful, funny or insightful, it's nice to get a nod every now and then.

I've also given out over 8000 kp for those reasons and more. That's a lot of nods.

Exactly!

Not sure if Karma's actually working as mine seems to have been stuck for a while.

Then again, I haven't been as active on the boards as I used to be.

Looks like Doc's & Wiz's Karma has exploded. Damn Karma Ho's

Quoting Borg999,
Heck, I once got 14 likes simply by posting a picture of a wild turkey that wandered through my yard.

Worth a try...

If that wandered through my yard, it wouldn't get very far.

Hehe, but I'm not that fluffy anymore.... have lost 35kg over the last couple of months and hope to lose more in the coming months.  Trying to do it slowly so as not to lose too much too quick, and hopefully then it will stay off.

Everything you wanted to know about karma (but were afraid to ask)

By Mister Language Person (with apologies to Dave Barry for patent plagiarization)

Q: What is the origin of the word “karma”?

A: The word karma is from the ancient language of Sanskrit (pronounced Sun’sCrit). Usage can be gleaned from the immortal quotation in the Bhagwata Geeta – “Falavay va  dhikarastay, ma karmeshu kadachanah”. Loosely translated, with a pinch of poetic license, as “You have the right to the fruits of your labor,  but never the right to receive karma”.

Q: Does the size of your karma package matter?

A: Having just One karma is better than having scores, as evidenced by MicroSoft’s recent decision to rename their gaming console as “XBox One” instead of “XBox 720”, clearly emphasizing the supremacy of One over many. Another pertinent example can be had from the seminal movie “The Matrix”, where the bullet-dodging baddy-bashing kung-fu-ballet-bopping Neo is known as “The One” instead of being named “Neo 2000” or such.

Q: If you have lots of karma, and want to get back to One karma, do you flush your excess karma out the wazoo or down the wazoo?

A: You cant, and the correct word is wazooty.

I was never afraid to ask... it's just that nobody here was qualified enough to answer my questions.... until you came along, that is.

However, seeing as you've pretty much covered it in a nutshell, thus pre-empting my questions, I think I'll just go sit in a corner and count my karma.  Hopefully I don't run out of fingers and toes and lose count.

Yup, they all lie about it!  If you have a small bank account they tell you not to worry cos they love you for you... and if you have a big bank account they tell you that they didn't marry you for your money.

A bloke can't win... unless he marries a generous [much older] woman with a big bank account.
