Playing a game where I had researched the Alchemist but I did not have enough crystal to build it yet. As I hovered over the icon in the Build menu, I mistakenly double clicked on it. To my surprise, it was placed in the queue and my crystal production went into the negative, even though it was the third item in my queue (resources up front for possible construction later? Who runs that company? Enron?
).
At any rate, I then clicked the small 'X' on the Alchemist icon to remove it. I thought I would have gotten my crystal back. I was wrong. I was still -17 crystal. I clicked the 'End Turn' button, thinking I would get my crystal back on the next turn. I was wrong. I then said 'Oh well. I made the choice and I have to live with it' so I clicked on the Alchemist icon in the Build menu again. I was now -117 crystal (I'm being 'charged' again even though I already had the resources removed from my inventory the first time I clicked on Alchemist icon on the Build menu)!
I would prefer to see the resources claimed and irretrievable after construction has started, even if it is only a portion (maybe 80% given back or something to that effect).
Looking at this from the game world (although it is not really necessary to do so), at the very least I requested the building be built three months before it would have been built (assuming I had one turn left on the item in the queue; I actually had about seven seasons before the Alchemist building would have been started). All the materials would not have been needed when the request for the building was made. When I cancelled the building request, some, if not all, of the resources should have been placed back in my possession.
Is this by design or an oversight? Thanks.
