[0.90] Blocking Bug ? - Unable to enter after having opened the black gate door in the LH scenario

Hello,

In the LH scenario, when you succeed to open the black gate (first step compulsory for the quest victory), you can't, after that, enter (go on the other side of the gate).

In case there are several black gates and I wouldn't be using the right one, I'm talking of the one that leads to the Gilden kingdom (West of the map).

Is it a bug or is it because my army is not strong enough (it is deadly but not Epic... does it needs to be Epic ?) or because it needs a special object ?

Could someone who succeeded to complete the scenario confirm that he succeeded to open the Black Gate ?

I fear there is a blocking bug...

Works fine for me.  Sounds like you haven't done everything required to open it.  If it is complete the gate should dissappear as it has in my screenshot.

Opening that gate isn't required to win the campaign, Markin has withdrawn from the war and completing the quest will cause him to open the gate and join the war.

Thanks for your reply.

I succeed to open the gate, like on your screenshot, but my army is unable to enter, it's as if it was bumping in a still closed gate... even if the gate is clearly opened.

Could you please let me know how I can complete the quest without opening the gate ?

I guess I can magicaly create an outpost on the other side and then cloud walk in it... but I've already tried that, and it indeed allows me to go the other side, but what then ? How can I continue the quest once I'm on the other side ? I guess for you the little thing on the map, a few squares north to the opened gate, is active (starts a quest when you walk on it), but for me it is not active... nothing happens when I walk on it with my army.

I'm stuck... I don't know how to continue the quest.

One more detail : The Quest states "Find a way to convince Markin to join the war", but, in my case, the war is over... I've destroyed the 4 ennemy empire on the map... only the 4 team kingdoms remains with me on the map... so I wonder if the quest is not stuck because of that... may be at least 1 ennemy should remain to be able to convince Markin ???

<update> I'm still unable to enter through the gate in question BUT I've found a way to win without doing this Quest (SPOIL : It's by succeeding the Epic "quest" (battle/takeover) of the Forge of the Overlord)

But I'm not sure you'll be able to use it, and I'm not sure it's worth spend time on this issue because it seems I'm the only one who experience it... and I must admit that I've edited one xml files in order to be able to play this scenario with a caracter I've created instead of the one by default.

So, it's likely that my issue comes from that (since I'm the only one who seems to have it).

I've done more testing on this issue (with 0.92 now, a new game started from scratch) and I really think there is a bug.

 ----- spoiler related to what needs to be done to open the gate ------

Previously, when I said I was able to open the door, in fact I wasn't really (I'm not English it's difficult to explain).

What I was doing is simply reply "Then you are no ally of mine, you will face the hordes alone".

Then, immediatly, the gate opened (or dissapeared ?... there was no more gate blocking my way anyway)... but I was unable to go inside.

Now, I've found what is probably the real way to open the door, which is to attack the marchands from Gilden and make believe it's the hordes who did it.

If I do that, when I'm in front of the black door, if I choose "Then you are no ally of mine, you will face the hordes alone", I still have the same issue (can't open even if the gate is opened).

BUT, if I choose "You can not hide forever, I will be back", and then go back on the spot, and choose "I have evidence that Gilden already under attack", then the door opens and, this time, I can enter.

 

So, for me, there is a bug : The door should NOT open when you simply select "Then you are no ally of mine, you will face the hordes alone".
