This will happen to you (the player that is) as well if you tell a hero to move to somewhere past the goodie hut and they just happen to end a turn on one. Seems like you only collect them if it's the end of your movement order, whether from a single turn move or a multi-turn trek.

If the AI intentionally targeted the goodie hut then it'd have been collected so this shows the AI is not targeting them -- even unguarded ones in their line of march. So, the real fix should be 2 parts -- the main fix is target nearby goodie huts (especially unguarded ones) in or near the line of march, and the secondary fix is to collect when merely passing through. The first fix would obviate the need for the second, but to be thorough...
