I used the amethyst collar on Ascian. When he joined my army, they couldn't move on the strategic map. I was able to move Ascian out, but then he couldn't move afterwards.
Too bad because he is very cool.
Ascian works flawlessly in my game.
You might want to provide your savegame so the devs can take a gander at it.
