Hello all!
I bought Fallen Enchantress quite a while ago, and enjoyed the game and the mods. So, after a while, I've decided to give a hand in the modding with my own very adiction: editors. You see, I don't play strategy games so much for the strategy itself as for the storitelling and the building of a nice-looking city. It is a bit silly, but for me, strategy games where simply a substitute for legos. With the advantage that you can do much cooler things in the screen and that there is no mortal danger of stepping on a lego brick and dying. A little. On the feet.
So, I have just started working on the Workshop, trying to do some new buildings. In particular, I'm starting to experiment by building a model for a scrying pool for the Empires. You see, I love Magnar, but I don't love the look of "Hey, I'm a lizzard", so with the help of the Mod Arcane Artifices (thanks about that by the way. Quite over powered, but also quite cool), I created my own custom faction of evil magicians. Imagine my surprise when, instead of a cool-looking building, I found a kind of boring-looking house. That added to something else that I hated: barbarians and an evil machiavellic-civilized guy shared the same kind of barbarian-ish-looking buildings. So, with this I am starting a crusade to create an alternative evil-yet-civilized-and-probably-quite-magical-inclined look for the Empires. My idea is to, once I have enough models, ask someone for help in order to mod it to Kraxis, Magnar and, quite likely, Resorln. I am seriusly dumb when it comes to editing html and all these kind of things, so I will limit myself to the workshop. In all likehood, I would end up destroying the game if I even dare to touch the code
And that brings my to my questions: Is there any complete guide for the fallen enchantress workshop/particle creator? I am mainly interested in shortcuts. I haven't found a way to do the following things:
-Copy and paste (when you're scaling a whole wall, it gets tyring to repeat the process over and over and over and over)
-After you have put a particle in its place (say, a column), how to be able to move it again with as much joy and lightness as when it wasn't set (basically, I am using the X and Z axis, and it is a little bit annoying).
-Move the Y axis without having to go on the little screen on the corner (I hate those little screens!)
-Select some elements as "favourite" (in the structures section, there is a possibility of favourites, but I can't seem to manage to get anything in there
)
And that is basically all. I am sure it all has really easy and stupid explanations, but I just thought some wonderful modder over there has already done the experimenting and can save me quite a little time.
Thanks!
Bigorra
