Just wondered if any people who have taken time to post an AAR would answer a question or two:
Questions follow some obsevations/assumptions on my part, feel free to clarify/enlighten me.
{A quick count reveals around 150 replies over 2 years +/-{in this Forum subsection I am posting in now}
{An AAR can be a pretty time-consuming task, depending on what the writer wants to do}
{Not too many people read them}
{Being able to Mod FE to enhance the story would be great, but it's too much work/aggravation, for something that will primarily be for your own reading/interest, and there really is not that much moddability}
Those are just my quick observations/assumptions.
Question:
Why did you write an AAR?
Question:
Was it worth your time when all said and done?
Question:
Were you disappointed that the supposed moddability was not very moddable?
Anything else you guys could share would be great...
I got pretty stoked at the idea of creating a backdrop after which I could drop a Sovereign in to E:FE and see how the story would evolve based on random environmental events.
After an attempt at creating some interest..quickly became apparent there is none. No problem, it was more for my benefit/enjoy than any one elses.
Now that I think about it, I guess I hoped for more flexibilty from the modding side than there actually is. Creating a story with a random fantasy world game plot device, thats only single player, doesn't have much "shiny" in these days. More appropriate for NWN 2 which can be developed much more robustly and actually experienced by as many people as want to by their downloading and playing the module. More bang for the effort.
I think I just answered my own question, lol.
