custom racial 'blood' for custom race

In trying to create a completely new fation, with its own race, I cannot figure out how to attatch the new racial 'blood' type to it. I've tried almost everything I can think of. The only thing left is to make custom unittypes, which I have not done, I just use the wraith ones. So where is the race ability tied into the race type?

You don't attach blood traits to a race. Each race simply has units and they all just happen to have the same trait, ie the blood trait. You have to replace the old race units with new ones with the new blood trait.

Race Editor helped me immensely because it does the hard work for you and that is adding starting units to your race. After this just add the Blood_ trait in core abilities of your race.

Well that race editor was not helpful at all, I eventually got it to work. But I found that in the faction creator, it assigned my new racial buff before I had even half of the units done. It seems to be linked to either the generic sovereign or generic units.

Race Editor is the first step and it makes it VERY easy to create a new race.

The most important thing is, it will link a bunch of units (that you can choose) to your race and assign the same trait (Blood trait) to them. After that, you can edit the Blood trait in any way you want and it will be applied to all the units already connected to that race.
