Greetings!

This post will occasionally be updated with whatever private build I have on my PC.  It's not an official build. Save a backup of your EXE.

+ Fixed bug where modded terrain types were assigned terrain type IDs starting from 0 again, causing them to have the same IDs as any terrain types read in from a data zip

Thank you for this. When you release this build for the public, Stormworld can now operate from the /mods/ folder only. Although there are still several problems with doing so, TerrainTypes.xml was the only file I was overwriting in the installation directory. Hopefully a first of many modbugs to be squashed!

+ Cosmetic change to the way units are rendered (let me know yay or nay on this)

All I am seeing is that outlines are gone now, even with them turned on. Is there another difference?

Yes, got rid of unit outlines. Since everything else has outlines I thought it made the units more distinct.  Also, we gain a few fps.

(I liked the outlines for units, only reason I used outlines hah)

But I guess you can't please everybody!

Although if for some reason we couldn't have an option, I'm siding with Heavenfall as I too would prefer the outline.

Option is my preference.  No outlines if we only have yes/no.

Right now I want no outlines so that my dinosaur can carry the game easier.

Next year I 'might' want outlines to give my new rocket something to do.

Frogboy you've broken the Ctrl+I cheat in this build. Please fix before release, I depend on it for testing my items.

Outlines is what gives the game its charm. Without them, it's just a mediocre looking game. I'm amazed that anyone would even consider removing them.

For other examples on how stylized graphics can create a success, take a look at early development screenshots of Team Fortess 2 and the original Borderlands, if you can still find them.

Kind of cool that we a modder that can do scripted stuff and mess with the .exe.

My favorite part.

Units seem to be looking better, and I play with outlines off. So it's a yay from me.

EDIT: Units actually look much better for some reason... I love it.

I don't know if this comes under your purview Frogboy, but is there any way to fix the object shadows. 

It's not so fun having great 3d graphics which can only be one-half seen.  Maybe adjust it so the light source is always behind the camera, or off to the side a bit.
