I strongly recommend using HDMI, DVI or DisplayPort (depending on your gfx card and TV capabilities - HDMI should be possible). When you use VGA cable, there are two conversions - first, the digital image is converted to analog signal (with loss of quality) which is transferred by the VGA cable, and in the TV, it's converted again back from analog to digital, with another loss of quality. The effect is a blur, and problems like you experience. HDMI cable transfers digital signal with perfect quality, each rendered pixel precisely to a physical pixel on your TV. I also believe it could help your problem. When you have modern equipment, don't cripple it by obsolete parts like this - a HDMI cable costs next to nothing, and if you have time to play games, you surely have time to buy one
Cheers.
