I don't have an easy solution. We need some sort of moderation system. Believe me, you should see the stuff that gets submitted.
Can you hire a few "flex staffers" Brad? A couple few young local talents whose duties are to handle the plethora of unskilled labor needs doing. Things which otherwise pull higher paid talent off critical things. And limits other things. What about a forum ambassador program where one or two SD jokers are frequently on the forums. Engaging with the community, pumping up the buzz and all that, while also gathering information to upload to various SD departments heads.. like marketing might have the forum ambassadors looking for certain things related to enthusiasm and what sort of narrative is developing on the forums. And developers might ask the forum helper to tightly gauge community reactions towards new features or feature suggestions. etc etc A wealth of information in the forums. To get max extraction from community forums, i think there'd need be someone whose job is mostly assigned to that. With a responsibility structured such that they join with other flex staffers on special projects whatnot.
Flex Staff: flexible (wo)man hours on call. They fill a bunch of little jobs would be nice to get done, but you can't pull man hours from other stations on regular basis. And there is this other thing you'd like to do, but it doesn't amount to enough to even put someone on it part-time. So hire a couple kids and perhaps even develop an internship program. Have them bop around the offices helping as needed. Handling small projects on their own. While doing all sorts of the good work flow minded stuffs : )
Some might even stick around and apply for a long-term job once the schooling and internship program is done. ?
