Dunno if it's just me having that glitch, but at some time during the game the water and waves vanish and instead only sand is visible.
Also less often the progression lines between the research items in the tech tree are gone or the combat field outlines.
And sometimes also the tile yields.
All of them show again after relaunching the game. NOT after reloading though...
